About Us - History

New Beginnings is the newest member of the Gramon Family of Schools. The Gramon School, serving adolescents and young adults with special needs, was founded in 1939. Recognizing that the earlier we begin addressing a child's developmental problems the more effective our intervention will be, Glenview Academy, an elementary school providing alternative placements for troubled children was developed in 1984 as an extension of the Gramon program. Our program for children on the autism spectrum, New Beginnings, continues the Gramon Family of Schools tradition of excellence.
